It's almost time to get ready for football season! Our annual kickoff party will be Saturday, August 23rd from 1-4 pm at Famous Pub, our home for watching football.

Famous Pub is located at 2947 N Druid Hills Rd NE, Atlanta, in the Toco Hills Shopping Center.

We will have complimentary appetizers, and each person will get 3 drinks free of charge. And there will be FREE raffle tickets for items including Berkey Creamery ice cream!!!!!

- Take 85 N to North Druid Hills exit, turn right
- Cross Lavista Road
- Turn right into Toco Hills Shopping Center (behind Wendy's)

Sign-ups for the 2008-2009 season have begun, and membership has its benefits!

What you get as a member:

• Free admission to events like the Member Appreciation party every spring
• Discounts to other club events
• Free member raffle ticket at every football game for the members-only raffle. This special raffle is for those awesome handmade PSU afghans and wooden gifts
• Free club newsletters

Memberships last from July 1st through June 30th of every year. This year's rate remains $20 for individuals and $30 for couples. Online registration is easy. You can pay by credit card, mail a check, or bring your payment to an event or game. If you are not sure if you have renewed for the 2008-2009 year, you can check the Sporg site by clicking the 'Am I registered?' box or by emailing Caroline Keating at membership@psuatlanta.com.

YOUR HELP NEEDED

Thanks to all Penn Staters in the area, the Atlanta Chapter is often used by the Alumni Association as a model of success.  To continue this honor we need your help. Opportunities exist at almost all events we hold.  If you have any interest in volunteering, please let us know.

If volunteering just isn’t your thing, there are other ways to help.  We can always use donations for prizes at events throughout the year.  If you are a business owner, or if your company can donate an item to give away, we’d be happy to advertise your company to our members and event attendees.  Items do not need to be Penn State-themed.  If you can help us out, we would greatly appreciate it.

Hi all:
We will be holding regular meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7 pm.  I am planning on holding them at Hudson Grille in Brookhaven. Hudson Grille is located at 4046 Peachtree Road, in the Brookhaven Station north of Buckhead.  Please let me know if you can attend on Wednesday, August 13th.

The Chapter's next monthly meeting will be held Monday, September 8th at 7:30 pm at Mellow Mushroom in Brookhaven. Mellow Mushroom is located at 4058 Peachtree Road, in the Brookhaven Station north of Buckhead. All those new to the area or who would like to become involved with Chapter operations and activities are always welcome to attend!
